As a founding partner of Leventhal & Klein, Mr. Leventhal oversees the firm’s substantial criminal defense and personal injury practices. In this capacity, he has been called on to defend his clients in their greatest hour of need, winning decision after decision.
Mr. Leventhal is uniquely qualified to represent those involved with injury claim disputes, having learned the standards and practices of the insurance defense bar by working in-house for a national insurance company.
He started his legal career as Assistant District Attorney with the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office, where he honed his trial skills by prosecuting a wide array of criminal matters.
Whether practicing in the State or Federal courts of New York and New Jersey, Mr. Leventhal is a trusted advisor and works hard to get the most favorable verdict for his clients.

Since co-founding Leventhal & Klein in 2004, Mr. Klein has represented countless victims of government abuse and corruption, including victims of prison rape, excessive force and unlawful strip searches.
Mr. Klein was one of the first attorneys in New York City Corporation Counsel’s Special Federal Litigation Division. This unit was formed to defend the growing number of police brutality and prisoners’ rights cases that were brought against the City under the Giuliani administration. It was here that Mr. Klein was promoted to the position of Senior Counsel, responsible for trying some of the most important, controversial and complex civil rights cases on the City's docket.
Mr. Klein began his legal career as a prosecutor with the New York City Law Department’s Family Court Division, where he gained extensive trial experience and developed a specialty in the area of juvenile crime and Family Law.
In 2008, Mr. Klein was named to the Eastern District of New York's Committee on Civil Litigation.
